Currently, I am a research scientist in Dr. Wendy Turner's lab at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. I am studying white-tailed deer movement ecology and chronic wasting disease transmission.
I previously completed my DVM/PhD dual-degree at the University of Minnesota. In my dissertation research with Dr. Meggan Craft, I studied feline retrovirus transmission dynamics in the endangered Florida panther. My work has been recognized by the American Association of Wildlife Veterinarians, the Wildlife Disease Association, and the International Chapter of the P.E.O. sisterhood, among others. I am passionate about teaching and mentoring, including students from middle school to veterinary and graduate school. In my free time, I enjoy training my three Australian shepherds, baking, and reading (find me on Goodreads). I also love to travel: I took many of the photos used throughout this site during my 2019 research exchange at the University of Tasmania. |
